So fantastically gooseberry fool it even has a song.

Agreed, I had such high hopes for that movie. I really wish they'd stop dicking around and make a proper sequel to Starship Troopers but that'll never happen. :(

That looks amazing! I love Zappa. I probably wouldn't mind watching it just to laugh at how bad it is if I was pissed.

Probably the best scene in Congo - a fantastic blend of hammy acting, awful accents and direlogue.

Believe me, I'm also a Zappa fan and 200 Motels is bloody hard work. It's like watching a DVD of Banana Splits outtakes.

Watching Eraserhead seemed like a breeze in comparison!

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Eraserhead can be hard work, but an awful film it isn't.

I didn'tmean to imply that Eraserhead was a bad film CJ; I rather liked it, but it is hard work. As I once said to a mate after watching it: "You know you've seen a Lynch movie when a character called 'Girl in the radiator' is in the credits".

200 Motels is very hard work and gooseberry fool. There's no "so bad it's good" about it, it's just a slog.

My mate told me that entire film is a surrealist piss take though, and is only intended to be horrifyingly terrible. Apparently some people asked Zappa what it "meant" and all this gooseberry fool and he just laughed and tried to explain that it had no meaning at all and was just a load of bollocks. Fair enough.

Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging. I mean really, what the strawberry float is the point in it?

Zardoz. Because everyone's film collection should have a movie that has Shaun Connery in a man-nappy in it.

All I can think of is Silent Night Deadly Night 2. Terrible, yet brilliant at the same time.

It bloody is, you know. Most of his films are pretentious, obscure rubbish. I don't doubt that every film has some kind of meaning, or that it makes sense to him - but I don't care. I want to be told a story, not have to unravel the workings of someone elses deranged mind.

I like you Miss Ross. You surprise him

*massively overused "Urgh!" sound effect*

Made me lol.

Also, saw this again today. Deuce Bigalow, Male Gigolo. One of the best worst films ever, and starring Gob's Wife. Who knew?

What does that even mean? Yes, I suppose a large proportion of the films I enjoy were bankrolled by Hollywood-based studios. Or did you mean 'Hollywood' as a byword for generic throwaway rubbish? In which case I resent the suggestion that just because I don't like David Lynch I must be some kind of Philistine moron.

Cyborg Cop 2. It's just awful on a level you won't believe. Must have been made on not much more than a fiver. Total gooseberry fool, but hilariously bad in places.

Also, slightly higher budget, but not much better is Spy Kids. Ugh. I hate what the film stands for and I hate the film. Plus the little kid is so strawberry floating ugly and annoying. How could such good looking parents have that little gooseberry fool?

Though I do remember laughing at some moments during that film. But hating it at the same time. You know how sometimes you are in pain and start laughing, as some kind of way to reduce the pain perhaps, it was like that.

The can't find the scene I remember making me laugh though.
