I can't wait for this to start, even at it's worst 24 is still mindless entertainment. The disappointing thing with it though is that everybody knows that it can be brilliant.

Obviously, spoilers. But the writing looks sharp, and the little confrontation is perfect in the first vid.

Let's get this party started!

I'm ashamed to admit, that I'm downloading the leaked episodes, even though there's only a day left until it's on telly! :D

I've watched them. No point in waiting when they're on in the next two days anyway. I'll be redownloading though so I can watch them again in glorious HD on my telly.

I really enjoyed it. It sets things up well and draws on past events to help explain the current ones which adds a bit of authority to the explanations instead of the usual wishy washy stuff of recent seasons. I'm willing to say it looks like a return to exceptional form is on the cards.

The ONLY problem I have is:
The female bauer :fp: No need for her to go so extreme like that.

It's great! It feels very much like season 1 as almost everyone is a new character and you don't know who you can trust. I think there was only one explosion in the whole 4hrs (and that was only blowing open a door) so they've really toned down the action which is exactly what I was hoping they'd do.

There's some very interesting new characters and storylines. I particularly like the story with the presidents son being murdered. I think the driver has got something to do with it but then that's probably what they want us to think. I also thought that Sean was bluffing when he told that story about his wife being in the plane and that he really was a mole, but that turned out to be true. The only character I don't like is Chloe, I'm not sure why she's so popular as her acting is awful. Great to see Bill back, his reveal was very well done I didn't guess it was him when we could only see the beard and the voice was disguised.

I was very sceptical that they could explain how Tony didn't die, but I think they did a pretty good job and the scenes with Tony and Jack together are brilliant so i'm glad he is back. His character is much different now though, it wouldn't surprise me if later on in the season he turned bad again.

Great start (but then season 6 also had a fantastic start), I do think it's going to be a very good season.

I think aswell, to avoid people getting upset about spoilers they should be labelled thusly:

Spoilers for Episode 6 (6:00pm-7:00pm)
Like this.

For example.

Spoiler for 1-4:
See the story with the son isn't that great because we already knew it was going to happen and we already know who's behind it. It's clear that a lot of that story is from before the idea for Redemption as it's mostly filler now. Now his father is on the track it should get interesting.

Tony isn't that different. He's only a slightly more ambiguous version of when we last saw him.

And what you take as Chloe being badly acted is actually Chloe's character. She's meant to be like that. Do you really think they'd have kept her in all this time if she was a shite actor? Popular or not she'd have been slayed.

Just bought the S1-6 boxset of 24 and loved the first season. I'm half way through the second season now :)

It does seem to over-stretch itself at times but its a great show. Once I've caught up I'm looking forward to seeing season 7... Is there going to be a Lost/Prison Break/Heroes/BSG style link sign up for this?

Are there any problems with those download links? They were mentioning earlier in the USTV thread that the sound may have been out of sync.

And even then it's easily fixed. If you're going to start downloading now then I'd recommend waiting and watching tomorrow in HD.

Im avoiding everything, Im a bit disappointed its on Monday nights this time, Sundays used to be all about 24, now I have to rush home from work just to get in time for it. :?

Cant wait, hope the almeida thing is explained properly, cant really see why he would have gone bad...

Fabian Delph is a banana split.
