15th May 2009. The adaptation of Dan Browns popular Angels & Demons is days from release, and I thought it would be nice to have a topic for it.
A lot of people disliked The Da Vinci Code, but it seems Angels could be a lot better.
The story in a nutshell. An old group of scientists who were brutually murdered by the church in the 1700's have returned, stealing a droplet of antimatter from CERN (Large Hadron Collider). They hide it inside Vatican city which will blow up in six hours, destroying the sacred city. The problem being that the whole world is waiting for a new pope to be elected, and the city is full of people.
Robert Langdon is called in because he is an expert at everything, and when he arrives they discover that four cardinals (the ones most suitable for the role of pope) have been kidnapped by an unseen assassin, who threatens to kill one every hour until the destruction of Vatican city. Langdon being awesome works out that the killings are going to take place at four locations sacred to the Illuminati, and spends the evening trying to work out where these public assassinations will take place, and try to stop the killer and find the bomb. The movie will feature a lot of Tom Hanks running around as he tries to work out where the next cardinal will be murdered. First Review. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/fil ... 9172.storyTom Hanks, suit, flashlight, Eerie church.
