That guy presenting the documentary award was clearly very bitter about not being nominated. And of course Stephanie Beacham loved him. :lol:

Yeah, he wasn't blemish free. I remember watching Sin Eater and thought it was mediocre at best.

But, overall, his catalogue of work and his range of roles was quite something for a 28 year old, even if some of the quality was variable.

Who knows how he would have progressed had he lived? He could have been a multi-Oscar winner, or might have faded into osbcurity. It's limitless (and slightly pointless) to speculate.

That's what made his death tragic to me, there was great hope for him in the future, he was only just beginning to star in truly excellent roles.

Another gimme, but I genuinely think that of those 3 films, Iron Man was the best looking one.

I'm a fan of all three of those, but I thought Button looked absolutely gorgeous.

The scene where they are boating in the Keys and the Apollo mission launches. Magic.

Oh good, TDK won that. Generally I would have been happy for any of those ones to get it. Iron Man is deserving of an Oscar for me because the full package of the film in terms of effects is exceptionally good.

Wall-E should've nabbed that one. Sound played an utterly essential role to that film, whereas in TDK it was merely really cool.

Wow, Slumdog is clearing up.

It can potentially get 8 Oscars in total now. I just want Wall-E to win something other than the pointless Animation award!

God, that Bleachman is one grumpy cow. Who thought it'd be a good idea to have her on?

No idea. I just really want Wall-E to win more awards. It could've cleaned up if it had been campaigned more. :cry:

After that last win (and I presume it will pick up Best Original Song too), this looks like it will be Slumdog's Oscars. I reckon it'll get Best Film and Best Director now too. The Academy clearly love it.

Not sure if I'm the only one still watching this on here. EDIT - Obviously not. Everyone was just waiting for one of the big 'uns.

It wasn't a huge surprise to see Boyle win. I guess that cements Slumdog as Best Picture then...

Here's hoping. Still a little miffed that The Wrestler missed out on the nod for Best Picture. I'll be blown away if Jenkins snags Best Actor under Rourke's nose.

Not staying up for Best Picture, mere minutes afterwards?

I'm looking forward to seeing The Reader now as I thought Jolie was absolutely phenomenal in Changeling, Winslet has got a lot to live up to.

Milk better be utterly mesmerising from start to finish and Penn better have pulled something magical out of the bag.
