Well that was epic.....

Can we have Ireland France now please. If England don't stop giving away stupid penalties, then cut loose and prove the backs can play in the second half then it doesn't look good for rest of tournament, given the dire performance of Italy. Mind you, surely Bergamasco won't still be on in the second half, (not as scrum half anyway) so surely Italy can only improve ?

George Hook said this might be the only match England win this year

They will need to improve to beat any of the other teams, but I dont think whis will be their only win.

I like the way they showed Hook saying that Bergamasco was good enought to play anywhere, then showed all his mistakes.

England will have to massively improve if they want to do well this year. That final try was pretty much the only point they created in the whole game, everything else came from an Italy mistake.

Italy are just...... :fp: Though, they did well for their try.

That was just awful - all round. Italy were dire but no one in the England side seemed to have a clue.

I have to say that all those who cheerfully watched Brain Ashton being treated like gooseberry fool, (despite him getting us to the final of the last world cup...), and who foretold that Martin Johnson, just because he was a great player and captain, would somehow also be a great coach, (despite never having so much as having coached a school team), now increasingly look like the simpleton pillocks I've always thought they were. I don't think Johnson is the man for the job and, on that performance, I reckon it will finally be obvious to all.

Hopefully Ireland vs France will be a damn site more entertaining as a match.

Well played Ireland ! For a moment I did think France may come back and break Irish hearts but Ireland fully deserved to win. Damn sight better match than the last one ! (Although that wasn't exactly hard.)

Could be safe now till the Wales decider as this year contains the healthy Irish schedule. If Wales lose away to France, it'll be all about staying within a certian margin of them come the final day. :shifty:

Spoilers? It's hardly an episode of Lost where a significant amount of people wouldn't have access to it until the days/weeks/months following, is it?

Good win for the Oirish yesterday, I hope they can keep up their momentum this year and have no 'blips' like they normally do.
